Some NBA executives and analysts believe that if the Thunder won’t win the championship this season, KD will go. They believe that a championship ring is the only way that OKC can keep the Slim Reaper at their home. And as an unrestricted free agent, KD will have all the power to choose where he wanted to go.

We already talked about the possibility of Kevin Durant joining the Golden State Warriors. Sam Amick of Fox Sports revealed in an interview that the Warriors is on the short list of teams where he might possibly go. Many shook their heads upon hearing this report. They say it’s too much and some say it’s quite impossible.

Well, let’s add something more into the Kevin Durant free agency rumors. There are reports going around the Kevin Durant will join the San Antonio Spurs next season. According to Chris Mannix of The Vertical, there are lots of executives who believe that San Antonio will bring Kevin Durant to the Spurs. According to Mannix, executives from other teams “believe the Spurs will explore ways of adding Durant to the mix, and the franchise's culture makes it intriguing."

With the Spurs’ trio of Superstars already at the verge of retirement, signing Kevin Durant makes a lot of sense for San Antonio. Tim Duncan is already 39, Manu Ginobili is 38 and Tony Parker is 33. Sooner or later, the three of them will hang their jerseys. Although they already have LaMarcus Aldridge and Kawhi Leonard at the roster, adding the former MVP is still a high possibility.

But how about the salary cap, do they still have the room for another big contract?

The coming spike in the salary cap is paving the way for a handful of teams to sign another superstar next season. Knowing the Spurs and their capability to manage and handle their finances well, Kevin Durant might just play under Gregg Popovich next season.

It will be really exciting to see Kawhi playing with KD for the San Antonio Spurs next season!
