Filipino Cop Buys Anti-Rabies Medicine For An Old Beggar Woman

A lot of incidents involving police officers has been said and reported. Most of those reports shows how bad or sometimes, how cruel a police officer can be to the people they should serve and protect.

This one is very different though. A photo of a policeman buying medicine for an old woman has made the rounds online and has gone viral.

Filipino Cop Buys Anti-Rabies Medicine For An Old Beggar Woman

Facebook user Celine Anne Giguera Hugo was the first one who posted photos of a police officer lining up to pay for the medicine of an old woman, who she thought is his mother.

In her photo caption, Ms. Hugo narrated seeing PO2 G.P. Jalandoni lining up at the San Lazaro hospital. When she asked officer Jalandoni about what happened to the old woman, the policeman said that he decided to buy anti-rabies medicine after seeing her on the street with a dog bite.

"Kawawa naman 'yung matanda, nanglilimos na nga lang nakagat pa ng aso," Hugo quoted Jalandoni as saying.

Officer Jalandoni paid 1,200 pesos for the vial of anti-rabies medicine.

Ms. Hugo has nothing but full praise for the policeman for being a good Samaritan.

Ms. Hugo's post is now one of the highlights of Philippine National Police (PNP) official Facebook page with the caption "Isang PNP Good deed muna ngayong umaga! Narito ang istorya ni PO2 Jalandoni. #PNPGoodDeeds"

PO2 Jalandoni indeed knows the real meaning of "To Serve and Protect" motto.
