Ever dreamed of having a blue-colored eye? If yes, for sure you will be very happy and at the same time, amazed by this newest development. According to a news article posted at Time.Com, there’s a new treatment that successfully changed the color of people's eyes in Latin America.
Stroma Medical, a California based medical company has successfully developed a laser treatment or procedure that turns brown eyes blue. This laser eye procedure will change the tint of human’s eye or irises from dark to light color. This is quite much better compared to procedures that require surgery or operations.
“The fundamental principle is that under every brown eye is a blue eye,” Stroma Medical company chairman Gregg Homer told CNN. “If you take that pigment away, then the light can enter the stroma—the little fibers that look like bicycle spokes in a light eye—and when the light scatters it only reflects back the shortest wavelengths and that’s the blue end of the spectrum.”This brown-to-blue eye laser procedure works by disturbing the thin layer of pigment that exists on the surfaces of all brown irises. Although it may sound complex, this procedure will just take 20 seconds or less to finish. It may take few weeks though before the eye color can totally change.
Stroma Medical claims that their procedure has already been proven safe and effective by lots of people, particularly from Mexico and Costa Rica. But some ophthalmologist has some warnings about this kind of eye treatment. According to them, every procedure does have risk and this laser eye treatment if carried out in a wrong way may cause glaucoma and even permanent eye damage.
Studies say that people with blue eyes are more attractive. Given that people with this kind of eye color are rare, it’s quite easy to say that there will be a high demand for this procedure.
Despite the high price, many people have already expressed their interest in this color-altering treatment. How about you? What is your eye color? Do you wanted to change it under this procedure?
